On the morning of October 16, 2023, Jürg Luterbacher, Director of Science and Technology Division of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), visited the AP-TCRC. Under the auspices of the Director of AP-TCRC, the Director of Science gave a brief introduction of the AP-TCRC's development, future planning and research progress. Jürg Luterbacher explained the development of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and its projects, and then both sides discussed the AP-TCRC's development of the long-term plan, the situation of international cooperation, the development of journals, and early warnings, as well as discussions on the aspects of further cooperation and support.

The two sides reached a preliminary agreement that the World Meteorological Organization would provide more support to the AP-TCRC and initially discussed the form of cooperation, and Jürg Luterbacher's visit was conducive to the AP-TCRC's expansion of its international influence, strengthening of its international cooperation, and standing in a better position in the international arena.
